It serves as a sacred pilgrim place where Ma Nanda and Shiva are worshipped by the devotees. The pilgrims carry the palanquin of Ma Nanda from Bedni Kund to Roopkund during the famous Nanda Devi Raj Jaat which happens once in twelve years.
