Is it a beetle? ID please!

This fellow was sitting on a chair in a Roadside hotel (dhaba) for a long time. Gave me enough time to try different angles and apertures.

Old Sigma 28-80 reverse mounted on my Sony A580. Built in Flash Fired through a diffuser. Lens set to 8 aperture.
