She leans on the urn, and time leans on her. This is the tomb of Vasily Dunin (1793–1812), a 19‑year‑old ensign who fell at Borodino. In the Donskoy Monastery, bronze and stone turn a personal tragedy into an eternal symbol of remembrance.
