Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist on the Volga
Church of St John the Baptist - Orthodox church in Uglich, an architectural monument, built in 1689-1690 gg. Located at the end of the Spasskaya Street near Resurrection Monastery.

The brick church was built in 1689-1700 Uglich merchant N.G. Chepolosovym in memory of the murdered infant son John (canonized). The base of the building - fourfold church basement with double-height part of the temple, completed five domes, the altar with the intended three apses, dining room and porch with hipped bell tower. Porch with a pitcher-pillars are located on the south side. From the south to the temple of the Church of the Saviour has a small chapel Simeon. From the north borders of extended warm floor chapel of St John the Baptist. On the facade of a building rich tiled decor. The church closed in December. 1935. Restored in 1961-1970. At the moment it is administered by the Resurrection Monastery.
Before this place was a wooden church of St. John the Baptist and the Savior.
