Star Light, Star Bright,

The first star I see tonight,

I wish I may, I wish I might,

Have the wish I wish tonight.

 

A Nursery Rhyme.

 

Though it's unsure if the superstition or rhyme came first, it is said that if one sees the first star visible as nightfall comes, you can recite this rhyme and make a wish upon the star.

 

These are the star lights we have on the windowsill in our lounge at Christmas ....... our version of a Candle Arch or Welcome Light.
