La catedral de Santa María de Mediavilla de Teruel, es una de las construcciones más características del mudéjar en España.
El desarrollo en el siglo XII del arte Mudéjar en Aragón es consecuencia de las condiciones políticas, sociales y culturales particulares que prevalecieron en España después de la Reconquista. Este arte, influido por la tradición islámica, refleja también los varios estilos europeos contemporáneos, particularmente el gótico. Presente hasta el inicio del siglo XVII, está caracterizado por un uso extremadamente refinado e inventivo del ladrillo y de azulejos esmaltados en arquitectura, especialmente en los campanarios de iglesias.

The development of Mudéjar art in Aragon in the 12th century is a consequence of the particular political, social and cultural conditions that prevailed in Spain after the Reconquest. This art, influenced by the Islamic tradition, also reflects the various contemporary European styles, particularly the Gothic. Present until the beginning of the 17th century, it is characterized by an extremely refined and inventive use of brick and glazed tiles in architecture, especially in church steeples.
