Westfriedhof U-Bahn Station, Munich, Germany

I couldn't resist in not uploading this view from another Munich Metro station after yesterdays upload.

This is Westfriedhof U-Bahn Station and is probably the most famous and well photographed U-Bahn station on the Munich U-Bahn network. The mixture of colours used here are simply awesome and they do transform what would be a rather dull and grey space into something pleasing to the eye.

One thing that the image really doesn't convey very well is how big the light shades are. They are massive in real life and do a great job in lighting the island platform, wouldn't it be awesome to have one of these in your house? Well I do away :-).

Munich U-Bahn was a lot easy to photograph than the London Underground I regularly visit. There are about 10 minutes between trains so it gave me plenty of time to compose the image and of course not have anyone in the image.

Revisiting these images makes me want to visit other Germany U-bahn networks, mainly Berlin!
