Vintage Soviet-era LOMO YUFK-2 Konstruktor DIY Camera - USSR 1986
by aaronshimer
4-in-1 DIY set by LOMO from 1986. The set is still in its original packaging, never been used. It can be used to build the following: camera, photo enlarger, film projector, slide projector. The camera is made of cheap plastic and has the feel of a child's toy.
The original manuals in Russian. Although they're from '86, they appear to be manufactured and printed with technology that is much older. The materials feel and appear more akin to 1930s U.S. technology.
ЛОМО is an acronym for "Leningradskoye Optiko-Mekhanicheskoye Obyedinenie" or in English "Leningrad Optical Mechanical Association." It was established as a French/Russian limited company to produce lenses and cameras. It manufactured medical and motion-picture lenses and equipment in St. Petersburg, Russia. It produced the first Russian camera in 1930. The company was awarded three Order of Lenin decorations by the Soviet Union.
