A Colorful Discovery
A strange thing happened in Seattle last Thursday...a giant glowing orb appeared in the sky. I'm not sure what it was, but luckily it seems to have gone away again. Hopefully for good. I've heard that light and color can kill you. And besides, what would we do without all the gray?
This is West Point Lighthouse, in Discovery Park. The weather was looking oddly good on Thursday, so Ella and I hiked through the park and ended up here to meet David and shoot the sunset. I can't wait to see what he came up with...the light and color should have made for a great HDR, I think. The image here is a blend of two exposures, one for the lighthouse and foreground rocks, and one for the rest.
Ella is really becoming my photo buddy! But this night I think she'd had enough of sitting on beaches for a while, and it was pretty cold, so she didn't last long before she was ready to go...right at about the peak of color. I wrapped her in my coat and tried my best to entertain her while shooting, but it came close to a break down this time. :) But I'm glad we made the journey, because it was a beautiful sunset (more photos to come). And I promised her a normal park with toys and no camera the next nice day.
Just got back from my weekend getaway at Alderbrook Resort, and I'll be visiting you all this evening. Hope you all had a great weekend!
