Along the shelf

Okay, so we have a few cool seascape foregrounds around here. :)

The other night, Ella and I headed down to Alki to shoot the sunset and play a bit on the beach. And I finally got lucky with the timing, and the tide was at the perfect spot during sunset for this shelf-like rock formation, which I'd always eyed longingly. The sunset wasn't epic, but it gave us a nice bit of color for a few minutes. I would have liked to have spent a bit more time at this spot, but Ella had other plans and was already halfway down the beach, scrambling over rocks and getting ankle deep in the freezing water. So, I had to settle for what I had and took off after her, before she went for a real swim.

Haha, taking a four year old along has its challenges ("Daddy, you don't need to tell me to be careful! I'm a big kid now!!"), but we had a great time and I hope to do it again real soon. She enjoys it too, and was actually the one that suggested we even come out this night. So, thanks Ella, for the idea and a lot of fun! :)
