Fever by Any Other Name

According to Wikipedia, "spring fever is a term applied to several sets of physical and psychological symptoms associated with the arrival of spring. In general it refers to an increase in energy, vitality and particularly sexual appetite." This, of course, is often confused with cabin fever, defined by the same reliable source as "an idiomatic term...for a claustrophobic reaction that takes place when a person or group is isolated and/or shut in a small space, with nothing to do for an extended period. Cabin fever describes the extreme irritability and restlessness a person may feel in these situations." Apart from the sexual appetite part, which I have no way of gauging accurately, I can assert without doubt that the above-pictured creature is exhibiting every symptom of both maladies and any other theoretically induced by the vernal equinox. In addition to those behaviors already cited, there is almost non-stop meowing, pacing, scratching, looking out the window for weather changes every five minutes, and other owner/partner harrassments adding another dimension to the standard desire for the arrival of a spring delayed far too long...clearly for feline and human alike.

[Thanks to vintage findings for the texture...told you I would use one some day, Karen... ]
