Soo Line 4-6-2 No. 2719, which starred at this summer's National Railway Historical Society Convention, will be operating the next three weekends between Duluth and Two Harbors, Minn. The engine will pull 50-mile round trips over the North Shore Scenic Railroad, which operates the former Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Lakefront Line between the two cities. Trips will operate Sept. 25-27, Oct. 2-4, and Oct. 9-11, departing Duluth at 10:30 a.m. The trips take six hours, which includes a 2½ hour layover in Two Harbors. In Two Harbors, free shuttle buses will transport passengers around town. Among the attractions are former Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range "Yellowstone" No. 229 and tugboat Edna G, which once shoved ore boats to and from the Two Harbors ore docks.
