A Palindrome
Cartography
I forget that everyone
has already been mapped
and rarely want to be re-surveyed.
I saw the perimeter from a distance
and honored the boundaries of separate lands.
Then by chance or was it invitation
I stand in your opened doorway.
Too close.
What is clear from a distance,
breaks down and loses context.
Perimeters dissolve... vanish.
And return.
The perimeter was always there.
Even friendly fire is too much danger,
so back to safety in my own country.
You are safe in yours.
