Influential Photographers: Margaret Bourke-White - 6/12
I'm blown away by Bouke-White's work. I thought I understood it, but the more time spent sifting through images, the fierce genius of her work became clear. Nothing I'd done touched more than the bare surface. Her keen use of repetitive shape really struck me. Very effective in her Industrial work and photojournalism. She was the first Western photographer allowed to shoot Stalinist Soviet Union. With this in mind, I melded the idea of her Industrial work (made modern) with thoughts towards Soviet architecture, using repetitive geometric shapes. (Sorry for being late.)
