Mediterráneo

I will start a photo-project this year trying to illustrate some of the albums that turns fifty years-old this year. Much of these albums were substantial part of my childhood soundtrack. Music that my parents heard in our house, so, that's part of what of the music that I remember first and maybe it influenced me in my musical taste. I remember sitting on the floor on the living room with my brother, playing with our toys, listening to this album, I was around four or five years-old.

Mediterráneo is the eighth studio album by Joan Manuel Serrat, a Spanish musician, singer-songwriter, recording artist, and performer. He is considered one of the most important figures of modern, popular music in both the Spanish and Catalan languages. It was released in 1971 and it is considered by both critics and audiences as one of the best albums in the history of Spanish music. In celebration of their 20th in 2004, Rockdelux musical magazine published a special 198 page issue with a list of "the 100 greatest Spanish records of the 20th century", and Mediterráneo placed in third. The album went out of print in the decades that followed its release and was eventually reissued in 2000.

His signature song "Mediterráneo" was selected as the most important song of the 20th century in Spain.
