Redang Island..

At the "Beach Restaurant", Berjaya Redang. One thing I can say - if you are a vegetarian (even a 'soft core' vegetarian or just trying to minimise the amount of meat you eat), this resort has pretty poor (non) offerings from a food perspective (actually 'poor' is a generous term. 'Pathetic' is a more appropriate description). What little they have to offer was perpetually 'out'. And this red tinted drink... they say its watermelon juice. M'eh, at least it was bitterly cold and yeah maybe the little wedge of watermelon on the lip qualifies this as watermelon juice.

And the poor staff. Lovely, but they can only work with what has been given to them.

Not cool.

And what's with the constant little sauce sachets, Berjaya?? This is a tiny island, one would think you wanna be trying to minimise the packaging (and hence rubbish generated) in your foodstuff.

Eh. Food in this resort, for the price (and preconceived ideas of the romanticism of the place), ranks as one of the more disappointing ones I've experienced in all the hotels, resorts etc I've gone to. Cheaper, tastier vegetarian (and other) food could be found 2 minutes walk from the resort at a local restaurant called "Aima's".

I'm sure I'll fall off the wagon again at some point flaky old me (hard conversion from near pure carnivorous state), but for those that never do: Vegalicious.

I was so hungry by the time I got back to Singapore!
