amethyst 1886

I'm always thrilled to be able to date some of these pocketwatch pieces. this one is just lovely.

the damaskeening (patterning) on the steel is fantastic.

 

I love Amethyst - my birthstone (February) and I picked a sterling silver amethyst to compliment the round silver compass.

 

I like the simplicity of this piece of steampunk jewelry. It looks complex but really is just a few very detailed pieces. The sterling silver compass has tiny gears.

 

I'm also trying my hand at a new background - these are Strawberry Leaves.
