Steampunk waterspider brooch -no longer available
This is going to be a brooch probably by tomorrow pm. The engraving on it reads: NEW YORK STANDARD WATCH Co.
which I think is just very cool.
The patterning - is called "damaskeening" - and in this case it looks like waves. It is quite reflective - and really catches the light.
The little water spider is chasing a nice garnet set in silver. In many ways it is a very simple piece but it works well.
I'm going to be showing it in a gallery show in 2 weeks - at the Ben Navaee Gallery (unless it sells on etsy first). I'm trying to do a bunch of exciting new pieces for the show. It's going to be the first time I've shown any jewelry in a gallery here in Toronto.
Just thinking of selling things in a gallery makes me feel funny. I suppose I better get dressed up. heh. And wear some jewelry too, eh?
