Miss Bixie Rose Lee. The girly-girl. Rosie. Bixie Rose-Marie Lee. Bixie Boo.
We lost our sweet girl a month ago. I already put this on Facebook, but am sharing it here too. She was my first dog, and the first dog that Alex and I had together, and she certainly was a sweetie.
She had little cowlick that stuck out from her neck (you can see it in the picture); we always used to say "Bixie's flamboyant flip is all the rage."
She made sort of a piratey "argh" barking sound when she wanted to play. It's funny how quiet the house is now, because Bixie was usually the initiator of play and Bongo didn't really start barking until Bixie did... but without her to get him going, Bongo is actually pretty quiet.
She had lots of delightful neuroses. We don't know why this started, but one day she started being scared of any sort of snapping or clapping sounds; they sent her scurrying away with her ears pointed back. And if Bongo coughed - she scurried away in the same way.
She loved to have her neck scratched, but insisted on putting her paw on your wrist while you did it.
We miss her lots...
