The city of minneapolis told us we didn't need a permit - the electical, plumbing, and sheetrocking contractors would get the required permits for their respective tasks.

 

Then the city said they were wrong - we needed to get a general building permit immediately.

 

The woman I talked with on the phone was nice and dished about the guy at the counter who told us we didn't need a permit.
