A Very Brady Tristan
We went to the Met HD Broadcast of Tristan und Isolde. It was fantastic - the first time I've seen it. And despite some hataz online Debbie was wonderful. Unfortunately, they tried a new broadcast technique that was good in theory, but just didn't work in practice - they did a bunch of split screens to show the whole stage, and then focus in on various singers, too. It ended up being like a Brady Bunch PowerPoint presentation. Often, the small parts were much too small, and it was like watching a TV in the next house.
But at least no one got sick, threw up, or slid head-first into the prompter's box!
