This is Nelson about a year ago - October 22, 2005 at about 18 years old and taken when I was cat sitting for my parents. She was taking thyroid medication at this point, and liked to drink out of the faucet.
My mom and I went together to pick her up and I carried her on my lap on the way home. Without know her gender, my mom and I decided she looked like a he, so we named her Nelson. I haven't lived at home for a long time, but she's always been my kitty.
She passed away today at the age of 19, and my mom and I were with her to say goodbye....
