Swanage Railway

The lovely front lines of Battle of Britain Class "Manston" with her leading bogie sitting on the turntable as she takes on coal at Swanage engine shed

27 November 2022 addendum:

This distinguished locomotive was one of the Battle of Britain Class, named for the RAF's contribution in World War II, and specifically named after RAF Manston Airfield.

Sadly, its name is now tainted by association with the Racist UK Home Office, their Racist anti-immigrant Hostile Environment, and by the appalling behaviour of the Racist Home Office in its treatment of refugees at what is now the former Manston Asylum Processing Centre at the airfield.

As far as this citizen is concerned, refugees, who are people fleeing war, famine, adverse climate change and oppression are welcome in the UK and in the rest of Europe.
