On assignment, hip hop singer (MCM milancitymusic) , location on a cave (no ambient light , ambient was aprox 1/20 2,8 ISO 1600 I love my D800 coz is able to catch so low ambient light jajjajaa) the client wants a funky head shot with strong contrast and weird colors so... let´s do it for him!!!
when I arrived to location i found a cave, no amibent an a train, abandonated train... so i put a Bare AB800 in a stand inside train to light cave from the inside.
then i placed a SB800 pointing to ceilling to fill , and a SB800 behind the guy (rim) this is the set up shot

then i placed a pair of DIY carboard stipbox, 1 mts long and 10 cmts whide to crisp edges and give somekinda shinny jacket side look, finally i used a ABR800 ringflash to fill (see glasses) in a bloom, 1/4 CTO , to warm.
explanation of the picasso style diagram,
Strobes Marked "A"
1 AB800 inside train to fill and back light
1 SB800 cardboard snoot´d hidden in the back of the subject to rim and fill
1 SB800 with dome diffuser camera right in stand hihgh pointing to ceilling to fill the cave a tad.
B strobes
2 x SB800 one each side , homemade cardboard stripbox, to profile each side of subject
C strobe, ABR800 ringflash used off camera as a beauty dish, to fill and kill weird shadows.
AB powered w/vagabond II , all strobes trigged with PW.
