Moving over the Golden Gate
This is one of my first shots that I took, when we arived at San Francisco. Maybe it is one of the best I have taken from the Golden Gate Bridge also.
We traveled north from Monterey, made some short stops along the coast and a longer one at the beach of Santa Cruz before at that day. It was still foggy and cold in Monterey when we left in the morning, than it got nice and warm during the day, especially in Santa Cruz and as closer we came to San Francisco, the foggier and colder it got. What a lot of people do not know is, that San Francisco is not very warm throughout the hole year. It is foggy, cloudy and chilly a lot of days in the year. Well, it gets warmer, when you are down in the city during the day, but as closer you get to the coast, the chillier it gets.
Well, we stayed in San Francisco for 4 nights before we headed east to Yosemite. We had not a single day on which we could see the Golden Gate Bridge without clouds surrounding it. So I had the idea to screw on a ND-Filter my camera and do some long exposures to capture the moving traffic on the freeway. I uploaded an almost similar shot before from that location with a longer exposure. But I found that shot in my archives now which I like more because of those to people on the left and the motion blur of the passing cars comes out a bit better. Back than I did not like the shot, probably because of those people. Now I think they add something special to this shot. I also did some other way of processing on this shot. I must admit that some of the images I processed on my laptop before look horrible on my new big screen. Most of them are way oversaturated.
So I am still going through my vacation shots. But I figured out that there are way to many to process in a short time. I probably will randomly upload some shots throughout the next days. There are also way to many images for a single album. I made one right after my vacation in last August with about 200 images. So there are "only" 3800 images left :) I also did one that only includes images from baseball games that we visited. Maybe I will create some smaller photobooks that cover some parts of that vacation like the baseball book.
Have a great start into the weekend, everybody! And many thanks for your support. I appreciate that very much.
