olh1313: What do the colors of the genera mean?

 

el_ee: @oliverhaimson mostly this is just triumph over transforming my CSV files into the right json format for somebody else's difficult network math to do all the actual work. But it is still exciting to seeee it.

 

el_ee: @oliverhaimson It's colored by phyla because once you get past that there's too many categories for colors to be distinguishable. I need to add a key and some more work on the color front.. Christina and I talked about clustering the more rare phyla in an 'other' category. Then will only need like 6 colors so can use shades of each to further distinguish at class level for the big phyla and at phylum level for the other category

 

olh1313: Oh cool that makes sense. Yeah an other category seems reasonable. I would love to look over your shoulder sometime when u are making stuff in D3. I really want to learn how to use it!
