Sickness Surprise Sunday

As some of you who saw my post on Facebook know, after making the effort to drive four hours to Potsdam, NY to visit 20+ members of my wife's family over the course of six days, we were all rewarded with a nasty, 24-hour stomach bug upon returning. I was the first as soon as we got back home on Thursday night, my 1-year old, Asher, followed the next day, and my wife, Carly, and 6-year old, William, got it last night (Saturday night).

The silver lining, however, was that today Asher and I were fine, and it was helpful to Carly for me to get Asher out of her hair for the day so she could rest. Asher seems to be taking more of a liking to trains than William, so we headed trackside. Our timing couldn't have been any better as B&E Train B101 with -- shockingly -- a dud of an SD60E leader needed a rescue from none other than the B&E's G&W heritage unit.

Asher and I had a great chase from Hoosick Falls, NY to Mechanicville. Here, the train crosses the Hoosic River at Fisherman's Lane in Schaghticoke, which was in an interesting state of melting ice due to a recent thaw following very cold temperatures.
