GMRC Train 264, East Wallingford, VT, 5/25/2010
It's #TBT (Throwback Thursday), and while 11 years ago might not be long enough to qualify as "throwback," nevertheless here's a look back at one of the best, day-long chases I had on Vermont Rail System's Green Mountain Railroad (you know, before "VRS" stood for "Various Rented Stuff"...).
On May 25, 2010, Aaron Keller and I chased GMRC Train 263 from Rutland to a little bit before Riverside Yard, then from Brockaway Mills back to Rutland after it turned as Train 264. There were only a few clouds here and there all day, and we only suffered one "cloud dinking" at Gassetts. The light for the tail end of our chase of 264 was nothing short of spectacular, as evidenced by this view of the train going through East Wallingford. Boy how I wish I could relive days like this! I don't think it'll ever be the same up there, unfortunately...
