Mt. Reynisfjall
Besides the view of the sea in front of the Reynisfjara lavabeach, there is on the other side the Reynisfjall mountain. This more then 300 meters tall mountain is very close the the beach, which makes the beach to a very long but narrow stroke to walk on.
Mt. Reynisfjall is an mountain formed by the eruption of a volcano, which can be seen by the basalt strokes in the lower part of the mountain. The basalt rocks, partly seen in the sea as the reynisdrangar formation, but the form also a cave bellow the mountain called the Hálsanefshellir cave.
