A bioenvironmental engineering specialist hazardous material team uses a variety of specialized instruments and tests to determine the presence and identification of any potentially harmful substances after the suspected detonation of a chemical device, Dec. 9, 2016, Travis Air Force Base Calif. The 60th Air Mobility Wing recently conducted an inspector general inspection to assess airmen response to an emergency evolving a simulated explosion of a large scale “dirty bomb” placed inside the base theater.
