Sandsend

Tide permitting there is a delightful walk along the beach west from Whitby to Sandsend. This shot is taken from about half way with the buildings of Sandsend - including a pub that does delicious crab sandwiches - just visible. Notice the conspicuous erosion of the boulder clay cliffs with huge slumps caused by exceptionally heavy rainfall earlier in the year.
