11-inch Rifled Muzzle Loader Gun of 25 Tons Mk II
Nos 16, 18, & 21 All 1871
The Mk II was adopted in 1871 and was constructed to the same Fraser design as the 9 in Mk IV
They have 9 grooves (as do the 12 & 12.5 in guns)
it fired a 548 lb projectile using 85lbs powder and could penetrate 13 in of armour plate at 1000 yds and 12 in at 2000 yds
They became obsolete 1903 and these were then buried.
Unearthed in 1978
