Get a grip!

A foot from the louse fly from the earlier posts.

 

I have never seen claws like these. It looks like each of the two hooks are split into three - no wonder these flies can hang on really tight!

 

This was shot with the JML 20x objective and in all honesty, the rather low NA of 0.30 is not quite enough to get the most out of this subject. Later I will try a Nikon 20x/0.46 when I recieve it :)

Also, I maybe should have used a tube lens insted of the bellows, but in the heat of the moment I forgot to make the change.

 

114 exposures stacked in Zerene Stacker, PMAX and DMAP.

2 sec, ISO200, 20:1, slightly cropped to straigthen the image.

Lid by one IKEA Jansjö LED lamp which was diffused by a small cylinder of ordinary copy paper wrapped around the objective.

The background is ordinary black flocking material.

 

Olympus OM-D E-M5, JML Optical 20x/0.30 on Olympus bellows.
