Head to head

Here you can see the Canon bellows compared to the Olympus. The Canon rail is sitting some 3mm higher than the OM but more importantly, the "working" distance from the top of the rail to the center of the mounting flange is 80mm which is some 24mm more than on the OM. This makes it much more suited for using the camera in portrait mode - the OM can just barely accomodate this and only with small cameras like the E-M5 and even with this camera, the remote cable gets in the way. The Canon combo will provide a magnification range from 2:1 fully collapsed, to a little more than 5:1 when the bellows is at full extension. (The small lens mounted on the OM bellows is an Otamat 20mm f/2.8)
