NS F9A 4270

with F7B's 4275 and 4276 throttle up with the 956 in the late evening sun as they pass through Talmage, KY.

Built in 1952 as Baltimore and Ohio 937 to BO 4580 to Morrison-Knudsen 4580. Rebuilt in 1981 as Maryland DOT 7181 to MARC 81 to RPCX 101. Used on the St. Louis Chain of Rocks Dinner Train based from St. Louis Union Station. Renumbered RPCX 1010 before being sold to Kansas City Southern who in turn sold it in 2006 to NS. Rebuilt with upgrades in 2007 by JLS. Rebuilt to -2 specs with more upgrades in 2014 by JLS.

Since this photo was taken, all four units of the OCS fleet were repainted & renumbered by simply dropping the '4' in early-2019. This unit became NS 270. In late-2019, all four were sold off at auction to two regional railroads.

This unit now wears a modified version of its NS colors as RBMN 270.
