Silver-studded Blue Plebejus argus - Basking

Memories of summer. Although it has been a poor season for butterflies this year I was privileged to see both male and female Silver-studded Blue earlier in the year although not in vast numbers.

A dried stem of gorse provides a good basking place for this male Silver-studded Blue. Gorse is one of the caterpillars foodplants on heathland.

Thank you all for your kind responses.
