Forester Moth Adscita statices
I saw this moth in a dry grassland meadow at Martin Down, the green sheen on its body and forewings glistening in the sun. Common Sorrel, plentiful in the lovely Martin Down meadows, is the larval foodplant of this moth which changes to a rusty red colour in cool, evenings and until morning dew.
My thanks to all who view, fave and comment.
