The train is now ready to leave and the shunter hands back the radio to the driver before opening the crossing gates. The station here opened in 1846 as the line east to Swaffham progressed. The station closed in 1968 along with the line to Swaffham, but this section has been retained from Kings Lynn for the forwarding of Glass making sand extracted here. Occasionally the platform has seen use by the Royak Family en-route to nearby Sandringham.
