SM42 2373 with a Moravica quarry transfer. 27th Sept 2022.
The beautifuly kept SM42-2373 of the Moravica limestone quarry brings in a long rake of empty wagons for loading from the PKP exchange sidings a kliometer distant, here crossing the Charnej Nidzie, black river to the south of Kielce on the morning of July the 27th 2022.
This is the photo we came for, thanks to Sven, Nico and Andreas for bringing me here. Of course, having seen the Freightliner 66 here the evening prior, I had thought that a scene like this would be in the past. The SM, along with one of the Quarrys 401Da-301 will split the train for loadong, re form it and return along the non electrified quarry line to the PKP exchange. The train will work forward under electric traction, hence the need for the quarry to use its own locomotives for transfer and shunting movements.
