66713 6H10 Dove Holes tunnel 19th May 2021
66713 snakes out of Dove Holes Tunnel and runs the laast mile to Peak Forest with empty stone hoppers from Blechley, train 6H10 at 10:35 off the Buckinghamshire stone terminal with an arrival just after 3pm at Peak Forest. In this direction this tunnel is on a steep rising gradient at 1 in 90, this gives a curious sound effect as the locomotives can be heard as they enter the tunnel at Dove Holes, and the sound projects through in front of it and out into the deep cutting on the Peak Forest side. Appearing aurally as a deep rumble, the deep bass note of a class 60 can be ear popping!
