Springwater Dancer - probably!
Finding damselflies is not too difficult in Texas. Although I am familiar with most UK odonata, identifying them correctly here in America is a different matter. I had *confidently* identified the above as a male Vivid Dancer (Argia vivida) until I discovered it might be the first record for the state! So I now believe this is a male Springwater Dancer (Argia plana).
ANY IDENTIFICATION COMMENTS FROM THE LOCAL TEXAS ODE GROUP WOULD BE MOST WELCOME. The insect was photographed right down by the river in Colorado Bend State Park, approx 100 miles northwest of Austin.
