The Three Barges

Today's Saturday Flashback is a bit of a mystery. I can't find much information about this stone tablet set in the wall of a house along the Amstel River. However, I rather like that it is a scene still commonplace in Amsterdam several centuries later. Apparently such tablets were originally used as house 'markers' or 'nameplates' to help you find the place you were looking for.
