Driftwood, TX.
Saturday Timewatch this week features a disused Texaco gas station at the junction of FM150 and FM 170, Driftwood, Texas. I would hazard a guess that it dates from around the 1930s?
Driftwood has been a tiny community ever since the 1880s, often with a population below 100. However, being not that far from the San Marcos - Austin corridor, that is all changing and we could certainly see evidence of significant residential development, not to mention several wineries, wedding venues, a golf and ranch club nearby etc etc.
Note that a sign mentions the Driftwood Historical Preservation Society so let's hope that the building survives the changes going on in the community.
