The weekly shop
Regulars will already know that our weekly shop for fresh produce takes place at the town market. Fortunately, across Europe, such markets have suffered far less from supermarket competition than in the UK. This was our weekly shop from Namur Market, Belgium, flower pots excluded!
Back row and to the left : A huge €10 sack of many assorted fresh vegetables and salads.
Middle : Fennel + oranges.
Middle right : Bread.
2nd row : Ham, soft goat cheese, hard goat cheese, smoked bacon.
Front row : Fish (trout) and lamb chops.
In total we bought from 6 different stalls, carrying our haul back to our self-catering 'home' on the local stopper train service. A grand way to do business.
