Compare and contrast
Many thanks to Chris Firth for suggesting a comparison of old and new Ordnance Survey maps on my last post concerning a Dorset drove road.
The older map above was published between 1888 - 1892, whilst the newer edition dates from 2007. By the way, the area covered is approximately one mile / 1.5 kms from north to south and roughly 2.5 kms / one and a half miles west to east.
My previous post was taken from the southern, highest point of Sandy Drove. I'll start things off by pointing out that the start, finish and line of Sandy Drove looks unchanged over some 130 years!
