Silver Bird
Ray recently posted a far better photo of KLM's retro scheme than I ever managed to get www.flickr.com/photos/flickrway/29215731224/in/dateposted/
That reminded me of Finnair's "Silver Bird" retro scheme, the above photo being taken at Manchester in August 2008, just one month after the inaugural flight. OH-LVE was about to depart for Helsinki from Runway 2 (23L).
The A319 was painted in the livery of Finnair's 1950s Convair in honour of the airline's 85th anniversary, the airline being the sixth oldest operating in the world. Sadly the scheme only lasted a measly 4 years after which time the aircraft was returned to the lessor as it was not actually owned by Finnair.
(Note : Just realised that I've scored a century of aircraft posts)
