66162 Whatley Quarry to Hothfield Sidings 6Z20

DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd's class 66 (JT42CWR) number 66162 in English, Welsh and Scottish Railway maroon livery with zigzag gold band, large number and EWS logo works 6Z20 on the down Chatham Fast line hauling limestone (CaCO3) from the Hanson plc owned Whatley Quarry in the Mendip Hills to Hothfield sidings Kent, for use at Tarmac Ltd (Ashford) Hothfield Works on 29 September 2014. There the material is crushed for use as a construction aggregate to form a solid base making up the foundations of roads. From front to back the 18 wagons being hauled were identified as 33 70 6955 093-3, JGA 17248, JGA RMA 19242, HOA 320027, JGA 17235, HOA 320014, HOA 320020, JGA 17230, HOA 320043, HOA 320030, 33 70 6955 101-4, HOA 320041, HOA 320024, HOA 320011, JGA 17210, HOA 320067, 33 70 6955 090-9 and HOA 320028. 66162 (works number 968702-162) was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, London, Ontario, Canada in 1999 and unloaded from the Heavy Lift Ship MV "Fairmast" at Newport Docks on 20 October 1999.
