Yore Mill, Aysgarth
The bridge and old mill at Aysgarth in North Yorkshire. Yore Mill is a four-storey, Grade II listed building, built in 1784 by Birkbecks from Settle. It is one of the earliest examples of ‘industrialisation’ in a rural setting. The river Ure provided power through a water wheel initially then by two Gilks and Gilchrist water turbines. The picturesque Aysgarth falls are immediately downstream and upstream of the mill.
