Laguna de Pampa Blanca

Laguna de Pampa Blanca and the Misti volcano 20221122

Located north-east of Arequipa and on the road to Lake Titicaca, the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve was created in 1979 to conserve the natural resources and landscapes of this area. It is a splendid example of the arid environment of the Puna. The reserve covers an area of 367,000 hectares and is home to a number of enchanting attractions such as lagoons, volcanoes, wetlands, dotted with pre-Inca ruins and unique fauna.

The altitude of the reserve varies from 2,800 to 6,050 meters. Most of the attractions are located around 4,300 meters.

As guards at the entrance to the Salinas National Reserve and Aguada Blanca, the Misti and Chachani volcanoes line the main road.
