Paederota bonarota is a perennial plant belonging to the Plantaginaceae family.

It is an endemic species of the southern and eastern Alps where it can be found in limestone rock crevices at 1,500 to 2,600 meters a.s.l.

The height of this plant varies between 5 and 15 cm.

Its flowers are 1 - 1.3 cm long, purple-blue to lilac-blue, sometimes pink, in racemes 2 - 4 cm long. It blooms from June to late summer.
